Community participation for people with disabilities has long been the outcome measurement in rehabilitation and independent living. In our research at The Research and Training Center on Measurement and Interdependence in Community Living at RTC/IL, we’re investigating measurements and developing interventions regarding the participation of people with disabilities in their communities.

Measurement has been defined as any maneuver made as part of progress toward a goal. Our research and educational efforts, we truly believe, are contributing to the progress of our goal: full participation of people with disabilities in our communities.
