Professional Biography
Amanda Reichard has directed research that includes a wide range of topics including barriers to accessing health care for individuals with developmental disabilities, training on developmental disabilities for medical and dental professionals, and how Appellate Courts have interpreted Title I (employment) of the ADA. Dr. Reichard has also worked for several years as a policy analyst for the Kansas State Medicaid Director and for a private research organization.
In addition to performing duties as the research director, she currently serves as the primary investigator for a five-year project examining the cost utility and effectiveness of Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) waiver for individuals with physical disabilities in improving health for individuals with physical disabilities.
Dr. Reichard remains dedicated to ensuring that her work results in practical outcomes for people with disabilities. Toward this end, she applies a combination of her academic and governmental work experience knowledge, and collaborates with state officials, policy makers and others to share her research findings so that they may influence necessary policy change.

Education
Reichard received her M.S. in Health and Social Behavior from the Harvard School of Public Health, and her Ph.D. from the Beach Center on Disability at the University of Kansas.
