Professional Biography 

Pam Willits, grants specialist and chief financial officer for the Research and Training Center on Independent Living, has worked for the University of Kansas since 1976.  She has been involved in the independent living field since 1984 when she began working at the Research and Training Center on Independent Living as the administrative assistant. 

Willits has coordinated several national conferences including the National Independent Living Conference, the Secondary Conditions Among People With Disabilities From Minority Cultures Conference, and the National Association of Rehabilitation Research and Training Centers annual conferences. A key member of the RTC/IL management team, she oversees all personnel appointments andpayroll and also ensures University of Kansas and State of Kansas human resources, travel, and purchasing guidelines are met and followed.
