Professional Biography 

Pam Willits has worked for the University of Kansas since 1976. She has been involved in the independent living field since 1984, when she began working at the Research and Training Center on Independent Living.  She has served as the administrative assistant for the Center since the first NIDRR RRTC grant, which began in 1980. 

She has coordinated several national conferences including the National Independent Living Conference, the Secondary Conditions Among People with Disabilities from Minority Cultures Conference, and the National Association of Rehabilitation Research and Training Centers annual conference.

Willits oversees all personnel appointments and payroll, and ensures that University of Kansas and State of Kansas human resources, travel, and purchasing guidelines are followed. She serves as a member of the RTC/IL management team. In addition to her administrative and financial duties, she oversees the RTC/IL publications and dissemination unit and works to ensure timely completion of products and publications.
